Labor deal ratified

NPMHU approves contract with USPS

The Postal Service’s new contract with the National Postal Mail Handlers Union covers about 43,000 employees.

The National Postal Mail Handlers Union (NPMHU) membership has ratified a new three-year labor contract with the Postal Service.

The contract covers approximately 43,000 employees represented by the union.

Highlights of the agreement include annual general wage increases, a reduction in the employer share of health premiums, increased flexibility to use non-career mail handler assistant employees, and enhanced health benefits for eligible mail handler assistants.

“This agreement is balanced. It addresses both parties’ bargaining objectives in a financially responsible manner,” said Labor Relations Vice President Doug Tulino.

The new agreement runs through Sept. 20, 2022.
