Western-Pacific was the area leader in scanning during the week ending Dec. 25, while Salt Lake City finished first among the districts.

Scanning snapshot. A snapshot of Postal Service scanning data shows the national rating was 92.71 percent during the week ending Dec. 25, down 1.98 percent from one week earlier.

The data was collected Dec. 30.

Western-Pacific led the four areas with a rating of 95.82 percent, followed by Southern (93.31 percent), Central (92.46 percent) and Atlantic (88.50 percent).

Among the 67 districts, Salt Lake City, part of Western-Pacific Area, ranked first with a rating of 97.07 percent, while Philadelphia Metro, part of Atlantic Area, ranked last with a 74.34 percent rating.

Scanning data allows customers to track their mail and packages, which helps USPS deliver excellent service, boost loyalty and drive revenue.

To see the latest data, go to the Informed Visibility website and select “Customer Experience,” followed by “DES 2 Scan Performance.”

Mailing promotion. The Postal Service is offering postage discounts to business customers that incorporate tactile, sensory and interactive features into their mailings.

Registration for this promotion began Dec. 15; a webinar will be scheduled for mid-January. The PostalPro website has more information.
