Military Appreciation Month

USPS recognizes veterans

USPS will honor veterans this month with a tumbler and a letter of appreciation from Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.

In observation of Military Appreciation Month in May, the Postal Service is distributing tokens of appreciation to employees who are veterans of the U.S. armed forces.

“The Postal Service is proud to offer opportunities for veterans looking to continue their service to the American public,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Doug Tulino. “Let us never take for granted their contributions to our nation and to this institution.”

Approximately 100,000 veterans are employed by USPS. The organization is one of the largest civilian employers of former and current members of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy.

The Postal Service was recently recognized for its contributions as an employer of wounded military veterans.

As a show of gratitude for their service, all veterans will receive a letter of appreciation signed by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and a stainless steel tumbler.

Managers can order the approved tumbler through eBuyPlus through May 31. Veteran coordinators will distribute the letter and tumblers to veterans throughout May.

Employees who will celebrate five years of employment with USPS during the current fiscal year will receive a prepackaged five-year anniversary kit containing a thank-you card signed by Tulino and a military-style challenge coin. These items will be shipped to managers and supervisors of military veteran employees for distribution throughout May.

Employees with questions should contact their district’s human resources manager.
