Environmental compliance

All facilities subject to federal, state, local laws

All USPS facilities must comply with public environmental laws and regulations.

The Postal Service wants employees to remember that every USPS facility must comply with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations.

Chapter 69 of the Administrative Support Manual, titled Environmental Management and Compliance, offers guidance on the organization’s policy.

The policy is applicable to all USPS facilities, managers, employees, programs, projects, operations, products and services.

The chapter lists commonly regulated equipment and operations, summarizes associated requirements and provides links detailing compliance guidance.

The content of the chapter reflects the priorities put forth in the recent Commitment to Environmental Excellence signed by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, which underscores the Postal Service’s dedication to environmental stewardship.

You can find more information about compliance requirements on the Environmental Affairs Blue page. You can also consult your designated environmental contact.
