DeJoy addresses nation’s commercial mailers

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy delivered a videotaped keynote address to postal customer councils for National PCC Week.

In the 10-minute message, DeJoy looks back on what has been accomplished under the Delivering for America plan and the changes that are ahead.

“Together, we have now started to change the direction of the Postal Service. We are a better organization in a better financial position than we were just one year ago,” he said. “And we have achieved this exciting momentum in unusual times. The ball is now in our court to effect the operating and marketing strategies we need to accomplish this transformation.”

DeJoy laid out the organization’s ambitious plans and urged commercial mailers to be a part of the changes taking place.

“We need you to be part of this transformation. We need your continued interest in ideas. We need your operating and marketing prowess and your competitive spirit to help us win together in the marketplace,” he said.

In addition to delivering videotaped remarks shown at all National PCC Week events, DeJoy also spoke in person at a Northeast Florida PCC event on Sept. 23.

Postal customer councils — also known as PCCs — are local groups made up of representatives from the Postal Service and commercial mailers who work together to promote the mailing and shipping industry.

National PCC Week, which was Sept. 19-23 this year, is also a time to recognize the councils and leaders — postal and commercial — who went above and beyond for the cause.
