ACE users have choice of replacements

Employees who use ACE workstations can use Zoom Team Chat as a replacement for Skype for Business.

Editor’s note: This story has been revised since it was first published.

The Skype for Business application will be turned off and removed from all ACE workstations on Feb. 27.

As a replacement for Skype, USPS is offering Zoom Team Chat.

The application allows users to switch from chat messaging to an instant Zoom meeting. It also lets users hold real-time one-on-one and group conversations.

Other features include persistent chat, which preserves chat histories; starred contacts, which is a list of user favorites; message archiving; and customizable public or private channels.

Favorites and chat groups that were created in Skype will not transfer to Zoom Team Chat.

A Zoom Team Chat user guide and instructional videos are available on the IT Self Help/ServiceNow portal.

ACE users also have the option of using the Microsoft Teams chat feature.
