Rural Carrier Becky Illgen was recently delivering mail in Cottage Grove, WI, when she spotted a little girl who was clearly confused and scared.
Illgen stopped and offered to help the child — a third-grader who had gotten off at the wrong bus stop and had no idea where she was.
The Postal Service employee comforted the girl and alerted the local Postmaster, who soon arrived and drove the girl to her residence, seven blocks away.
Her father explained that the family was new to the community, and he was grateful that his daughter made it home safe and sound.
