Lawn care

Pleasanton, CA, City Carrier Assistant Paula Lee

City Carrier Assistant Paula Lee was recently delivering mail in a Pleasanton, CA, neighborhood when she heard someone scream for help.

She looked around and saw a customer lying on the ground in front of his doorstep.

Lee rushed to check on the man, who had fallen while watering his lawn and was bleeding profusely from a head wound.

The Postal Service employee immediately called 911 and rendered first aid to slow the blood loss.

Paramedics soon arrived to provide further assistance.

“Paula was the only person around who could have saved him,” said local Customer Services Supervisor Kevin Birco. “His family is forever grateful to her, and she made us all proud for the way she handled the situation.”
