Prompted by pileup

Letter Carrier Brooke Snyder was recently making deliveries in a Keyser, WV, neighborhood when she grew concerned about a customer whose mail was piling up.

The man normally checked his mail daily, so Snyder alerted his next-door neighbor, who had a key to his house.

They soon found the customer collapsed inside his home.

Paramedics were dispatched to the scene, and the man was taken to a hospital.

He did not survive.

“Brooke has been, and continues to be, a very attentive carrier,” said Keyser Postmaster Robert Shrout Jr.

Employees featured in “Heroes’ Corner” also receive letters of commendation through the Postmaster General Heroes’ Program. The nomination form is available on Blue.
