Silverton, OR, Letter Carrier Rose Boen grew concerned when she saw mail piling up in a customer’s mailbox. She asked a police officer to conduct a wellness visit then continued her route. The officer knocked on the front door but got no response. So he forced the door open and found the man lying on the floor in need of immediate medical care. He was taken to a hospital. The officer later called Boen to thank her. He said the man had been lying on the floor for two days.
