Following up on a sales lead, Hazelwood, MO, Sr. Field Sales Representative Alfredia Smith arranged a meeting with a Columbia, MO-based company that sells designer bridal footwear and accessories online.

Aside from shoes, Smith learned the company shipped high-end bridal purses, jewelry and other accessories directly to customers. Most packages weigh 2 pounds and are shipped in shoe box-sized boxes.

She also discovered the company had experienced a large number of lost packages with its current shipper, which was initiating dimensional (DIM) weight pricing that would soon drive up shipping costs.

Smith suggested the company switch to Priority Mail. She explained how its free insurance, free tracking with email notifications and free pick-ups without surcharges or DIM weight shipping charges would improve customer service and the company’s bottom line.

The executives decided to step forward with USPS. The sale is worth $226,000 in annual revenue.

“I helped find solutions to meet their needs,” Smith said. “Being able to help really makes my day.”
