The race for scanning superiority remains highly competitive, the latest performance scores show.

Here are the area and district standings, as of April 29:

  • Areas. Western, with a rating of 96.9 percent, assumed first place. Capital Metro (96.84 percent) took second, while Southern (96.66 percent) finished third.
  • Districts. Portland, with a rating of 97.93 percent, finished first for the seventh straight week. Dakotas (97.74 percent) was second, while Sacramento (97.63 percent) climbed six spots to take third.

The national scanning score for the week ending April 24 was 96.51 percent, down slightly from the previous week.

Scanning allows customers to track their packages and other mail. It also helps the Postal Service improve efficiency and network management.
